In his position as Director, Political Advocacy + Grassroots, Jon oversees all political and member engagement programs for the world’s largest foodservice trade association.
 
Prior to joining the NRA in 2013, he served as Executive Director for the New Hampshire Republican State Committee (NHRSC) during the 2012 Presidential election cycle. In this position, Simons oversaw the statewide strategy and fundraising for federal, state, and local Republican candidates while coordinating state party efforts with the Romney for President campaign.
 
Before the NHRSC, Simons spent time at DDC Public Affairs, the American Hotel & Lodging Association and U.S. Chamber of Commerce where he, respectively, directed issue advocacy campaigns; managed grassroots and PAC programs; and lobbied on defense and aerospace programs.
 
Simons received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of New Hampshire.

Join Jon Simons and Steven Clark of the Massachusetts Restaurant Association, as they discuss the importance of actively engaging with lawmakers to protect the restaurant industry. The session will highlight all levels of engagement—from participating in Restaurant Roundtables with lawmakers, to writing/calling legislators, to publicly speaking on legislative measures—in which restaurateurs can politically engage on a local level.
